Polestar OS Concept
Reimagining the digital cockpit for the Polestar 4. This project develops a scalable, HMI architecture, integrating Polestar's minimal aesthetic with the complex data requirements of a high-performance EV.
Project Role
01. Defined a scalable, widget-based information hierarchy for a native Automotive environment.
02. Developed an adaptive interface strategy to minimize cognitive load based on driving conditions.
03. Designed technical instrument clusters for G-force, energy consumption, and heading, prioritizing glanceability and safety.
04. Executed UI designs in Figma and visualized final contextual rendering to validate visibility.
Design System
Color System
Anchored by Polestar’s signature gold, this palette utilizes a monochromatic scale inspired by the vehicle’s physical materials. By referencing textures like Magnesium and Asphalt, the system creates a seamless visual continuity between the cockpit hardware and the digital interface.
Final Designs
Adaptive Driver Cluster
The cluster automatically switches its layout to show you only the essentials when cruising, and integrates a map view when you need navigation.
Center Display
The center display serves as the modular home base, letting the driver mix performance widgets like G-Force and media controls right onto an integrated navigation map.
